San Paulo

If I have ever told you about deserts or said something looks like it then I didn´t know how a desert looks like.
We left by plane from Santiago to Calama airport in the north of Chile.
When the pilot said now we are going to land I was looking out of the window and I didn´t see any track where the plane shoud land.
I saw only sand, sand and more sand.
Somehow the pilot find his way to land on a track and we leave the plane right out to the piercing sunshine.
The transfer bus takes us to San Paulo a dusty desert trown with very little water.

When we have checked into our hotelroom and changed to something more easy to wear, we take a walk through this dusty town. The sun feels like it´s going to burn through my skin and I want to walk on the side where the shadow is.

Oh look we find postcard in the first shop we entered, and lots of tourist from different contries.
This area is very expensive if you compare it to the rest of Chile because of all these tourists.

When the night falls it´s starts to feel nice I start to feel alive again.
I think I¨ll stay for another day.

¿Thoughts?

We are staying on a small town called Quillota. They do have anything you like, shops,  museums  and pubs.
And ofcourse they have a callcenter where you can call all over the world or to you neighbour.
They have also  the internet you can hire for 10-30 minutes or for hours if you like.
The familieas don't have internet or phones they go to these callcenters and make their calls.

When we first arrived we wanted some coffee they served us Nescafé that's their standard. And I just hate it!
I like coffee but not this dried one. I have had some nice cups to at a cafĂ© and man did that taste good!

Then there are another issue with the postcards. We where looking and looking and we coudn`t  find any anywhere. When we asked abut it they told us that they have the internet  they don´t send any postcards because of that.
A few hours later we wher walking by a line with people and I asked why they where standing there?
Maria told me that they have to pay some of their bills maybe the water bill.
¿But don´t they have the internet?
Well yes but it dosen´t work for the bills.
I rather send some postcards to my friends and pay my bills on the internet than the other way around.

It´s very dry here the grass is yellow and burt it looks loke we are in desert.
They say it hasn´t  been raining as much as it should.
They have big plantations with avocados and tomatoes all over in the walleys.
The big mountains that surounds us, keeps us safe from the world outside.

I think I have to have a sandwich with some "palta" now, it´s lunch time.
Hola!!

Thoughts

I have called our doctor to check if we need some kind of injections for our travel.
She thought we needed a hepatite A injection, so now I have reserved an apointment.
I´m not that fond of those shots I think the are nasty monsters that makes my legs go jelly and  my head starts to feel really light.

A girls have to do what a girl have to do........

I have done a what to list and now I can strike one thing off;

I have bought me and hubby some books for the flight or when we are waiting at the different locations for the plane to take off.  It´s going to take us 24 hours to travel from Landvetter airport in Gothenburg, Sweden to Santiago in Chile.
We are going to do two intermediate landings one in Frankfurt and the second one in Madrid before we leave for Santiago. Hopefully we get some sleep on the last plane.

I have been thinking of a crozzword pussel and/or a sudoku problems magazine haven´t decided yet.

I hate to wait, waiting is the most time waisting thing I can think off. Waiting is much more fun if you have something intressting to do so I better pack fun things in my backpack.

Hubby has started to count down the weeks what is left for our vacation he says it´s two weeks left. I haven´t started to think of that yet......

I have so much to do before we leave.... like..........well.......I can´t think of anything right now.....
I´ll be back........!

Started packing

Ok I have started packing. Bikini, sunlotion and some hand disinfectant.
At least I have packed more than my father ever did when we were leaving for Finland.
He only packed his bathing trunks. My mother on the other side run along and packed for us three children,  her self and our father for 24 hours before we left. He never metioned that..... hmm.
My mother had dark sunglasses on and a migraine every time we left I wonder why.......?

When we kids grew up we started to pack for ourselfs, but mum kept on packing for herself and our father.
She still does that.
I do admit I have packed for our three daughters and for my self but hubby has done his packing for himself.

Now I´m going to do some serious packing I might concider taking my toothbruch with me I think I can find room for it....
